Children's Ministries Policies and Procedures

General Information for all ages

  • Nursery facilities will open 15 minutes prior to each service and close 15 minutes after each service. Please be prompt in picking up your child.
  • No children above nursery age will be permitted in any nursery room.
  • Please do not "look in" on your child. If a child is still upset after 10 minutes, the parent will be notified. Please indicate on information cards where you will be during that session.
  • All nursery-age children must be signed into the nursery by their parent or guardian. An ID badge will be given to the parent, and a child will be released only to the person to whom the badge was issued. Please do not enter the room for pick-up, as a teacher will get your child and all their belongings for you to avoid confusion. Please pick-up at the same area as check-in.
  • Please do not bring personal toys or other possessions unless it is a "security" item (blanket, pacifier, etc).
  • If your child is potty-training, please take your child to the bathroom prior to dropping them off and make sure the teacher knows. Please also have extra clothes available in case of an accident.

Please let the Coordinator or teachers know if your child has special needs or allergies

Check-In Procedures

In order for our Nursery Team to provide your child with the best care possible, we ask for your help with the following:

  • Bring diaper bag supplied with at least 2 diapers, change of clothes, a bottle/formula or food if needed, a bib, and any other special item your child might need. Please be sure to clearly label your child's diaper bag, bottle/sippy cup, and other special items.
  • Hand child over the door to awaiting nursery worker and wait while they get your child's ID badge.
  • Children are only released to their parents (or guardians) who have their ID badge.

Healthy Child Policy

In order to ensure the safety and helth of other babies, children and workers, please do not bring your child if he/she has had any of the following symptoms within the past 24 hours:

  • Diarrhea
  • Discharge in/around eyes and/or pink eye
  • Green/yellow runny nose
  • Fever (higher than 100.0)
  • Excessive Coughing
  • Vomiting
  • Questionable Rash or Open Sores
  • Strep Throat

If your child is on an antibiotic, he/she must be on it for at least 24 hours before coming in the nurseries.

We strive to make our nurseries and classrooms as healthy and safe as possible. All rooms, including toys, are cleaned and sanitized on a regular basis to help reduce the spread of germs and illness. We also use disposable gloves for diaper changes.

Discipline

"Time-out" is used at the workers' discretion. If your child is being destructive or will not stop a behavior that is hurting another child, your child will be removed with a worker, and we will come to get your assistance. If this behavior continues on a regular basis, a meeting will take place with the Coordinator, Team Leader, and parent (guardian) to work toward an appropriate discipline plan. Detailed discipline policies are outlined in the "Little Trekkers" Policy and Procedure Handbook.

Open Communication Policy

Our goal is for your child and you to feel comfortable at our church so they can best learn about Jesus. Please feel free to contact us if you have questions or concerns. You can talk to the leader/teacher in charge, or if you need to talk to the coordinator, please contact Abby at 327-9122.
